FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
San Francisco, Ca. - January 20, 2010 - KOFY TV20-Cable 13 today announced its newest addition, Celeste Perry as the new weekday morning host. The Bay Area personality can be seen from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. interviewing guests, answering viewer e-mails, and keeping viewers up to date with what’s HOT in the region.
Celeste Perry is a great representation of the KOFY TV spirit -- she’s local, pro-active in the community and an innovative thinker. Prior to KOFY, Celeste served as a morning show co-host on KFRC-FM in San Francisco. She also appeared as a frequent KOFY TV guest host for the monthly pet adoption feature dubbed “KOFY Companions,” where KOFY would join forces with Bay Area shelters to feature dogs in need of homes.
“Based on viewer responses from Celeste’s previous appearances, it became obvious that she would be the perfect fit for KOFY. We’re thrilled to have her on board in a more prominent role as we continue to provide our viewers and advertisers with the independent voice our station is known for,” stated KOFY TV 20/Cable 13’s President and General Manager, Craig Coane.
“From the moment I started doing work at KOFY, I felt like I was home, plus I’m a dog person! My broadcast experience matches perfectly with the unique direction of KOFY,” said Perry. “No other Bay Area TV station offers a platform for local personalities to entertain and engage audiences in such a relevant and interactive way.”
Celeste Perry began her radio career in her hometown of Honolulu Hawaii while a student at the University of Hawaii. Post-graduation, she worked at KQMQ-FM and sister station KKUA-FM playing a mix of jazz, reggae and homegrown Hawaiian music. In 1982, she came to the City by the Bay and landed her first major market gig at KSFO-AM. From weekends to nights, afternoons and finally mid-days, Celeste remained at 560 KSFO and 93.3 KYA-AM through 1995 when the KYA call letters were retired and 93.3 emerged as KYCY-AM Young Country. In 2005, she ventured over to Smooth Jazz KKSF-FM. Celeste will stay on as the writer, producer and presenter of the innovative “Hot Flash” podcast on KKGN-AM, “Green 960” San Francisco.
